Description
Warm Audio WA84-C-N
Small diaphragm condenser microphone with output transformer.
This vintage-style microphone features a Class A signal path with CineMag transformer, Fairchild transistors and Wima capacitors. As a classic small-diaphragm microphone, it is suitable for a wide range of applications, including acoustic and electric guitars and basses, drums, piano, strings, or winds.
Using a CineMag output transformer with nickel core, the WA-84 has a very BIG sound for its small size. Small diaphragm condenser microphones have almost exclusively been transformerless in recent years to simplify the design and make the manufacturing process more cost effective. In developing the WA-84, Warm Audio made a conscious decision not to do so. Instead, the result is a boutique design with the legendary sound of the 60s and 70s, known for its crystal clear, yet creamy and smooth sound.
