Vintage Style Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Back in 2016, Warm Audio presented the previous WA-87 model and made the coveted vintage sound of the original affordable for everyone. Now, based on the accumulated experience, the Texan manufacturer has subjected the model to a consistent update to exceed expectations once again.

As a result, the WA-87 R2 (Revision 2) features a discrete circuit design with premium components such as new-old-stock Fairchild transistors, WIMA and Nichicon capacitors, and is complemented by an improved CineMag USA output transformer. The capsule used is an in-house design precisely modeled after the classic double-diaphragm capsule, with a gold-coated 6 µm NOS Mylar diaphragm.

Thanks to authentic vintage warmth and a smooth, detailed top end, the WA-87 R2 comes even closer to the ever-popular sound & vibe of the original classic from the Swinging Sixties.
