Tone Beast in API-500 cassette format.

The TB12-500 Tone Beast is a professional microphone preamp that can effortlessly handle a range of signals. Thanks to premium CineMag transformers and discrete signal paths, it is the Swiss Army Knife of options and timbres. The two switchable amplifier stages and output transformers allow for tonal colorations that can only be achieved in this depth with analog equipment. If that’s not enough, you can simply swap out the discrete, socketed OpAmps for a personal preference from the 2520 6Pin series.

The TB12-500 shows its true strength when driven « hot »: The interplay of saturation from the discrete opamps and transformers creates harmonic distortion that enhances any mix.
