Killer V is inspired by American amps of the 50s and 60s that have that special « vibe ». It’s a very specific type of frequency shift that only the true pitch-shift vibrato circuitry of those amps can produce. Killer V was designed as a meticulously accurate emulation of those circuits. With every last detail in mind, the behavior, sound and feel of the preamp, phase inverter and power amp of these vintage amps were copied. By using JFET technology, Crazy Tube Circuits has managed to authentically recreate not only the powerful overdrive sounds, but also the characteristic clean sounds. The most important part was the emulation of the LFO and the 2 stage dual phase shift modulation to get as to the original as possible. Killer V adds an unprecedented spaciousness and musical feel to the sound. As with almost all original circuits, Crazy Tube Circuits allows the unmodulated dry signal to be output in parallel with the effect signal. This results in a swirling phaser/vibe sound.
